PSA: Grammarly will send unhinged messages to all your users if you try to cancel:
We let them know we weren’t going to renew and they sent these unsolicited emails and popups in their app to all of the users who had licenses. They didn’t give us a heads up - just started carpet bombing everyone. They even listed the direct email for the guy on my team who handles licensing. We were going to ride out the rest of the subscription but leadership wanted the emails nuked, apps ripped off endpoints, and licensing/training for Copilot expedited.
What an absolutely greasy, desperate company. Stay far away. And if you’re a current customer, be prepared for this nightmare.

Okay so I’m the Customer Success Manager from that screenshot, and I want to ask you guys a few questions.
Can you eat grass? I mean, can you sustain yourself by consuming only grass? If yes, good for you. If not, read on.
Do you know how hard it is to sell a grammar checker in 2026? Everyone is using AI to check their grammar now. And every enterprise tool comes with its own AI. When you try to type something in a text field, you’ll see 3 AI butthole logos from those plugins like the Clippy days. What can Grammarly do?
Our enterprise revenue is dropping like crazy. You really think I want to send an email asking people to harass their IT guy? I’ve been doing B2B SaaS for 10 years, and I know the consequences. But I also know that polite emails don’t work anymore. I can see it in our HubSpot. You just open our emails and delete them after like 2 seconds.
When you decided not to renew, my manager told me, do it, this is a desperate measure for desperate times. I have a mortgage. I have loans. If I don’t meet my quota, they will put me on a PIP.
You think it’s bad because I included the email address of the IT guy. But do you know my manager originally asked me to scrape the phone numbers of your C-suite from ZoomInfo and message them? You should be thankful that I talked him down to only sending that email.
Honestly, if your IT guy had replied to my follow-ups on LinkedIn, we wouldn’t have ended up like this.
Edit: why is this downvoted
